RTI’s gold standard for curve trace interfaces, the Octopogo™ has many features. It’s compatible with systems up to 1152 pins and is a spring pin block based test fixture. DUT boards or Octopogo™ boards are clamped down with 4 screws from the top. A remote extension cable is available for remote testing. A test point matrix allows for external connections to the pins. Octopogo™ fixture can interface with ribbon cable based DUT boards by plugging cables onto test points.
The original MegaTrace fixture designed by UTI. RTI continues to support this fixture. The elastomer interface is compatible with systems up to 2160 pins and is based on elastomer strip connectors. This flexible system compresses between the DUT board and fixture PCB, creating an electrical connection that is durable, reliable and low-cost compared to spring pins. Large format DUT boards can support a wide range of fixture requirement.
Supports pin counts from 648 to 2160 and can built into the curve trace system as a native interface or built onto the elastomer’s large format DUT board and used as an interface.
MegaTrace DUT Boards
Below are the various options supporting the different test fixtures. Depending on the fixture box you choose above, DUT boards and compatibility vary. Custom compatibility fixtures are available. Contact us for more information.
Octopogo™ Daughter Cards (ODC) are built to support sockets for any device. Standard ODCs are limited to 2.25-inch sockets maximum and 29mm sized packages. For larger packages, an extended Octopogo™ is required.
Video features Octopogo™ Daughter Card and socket with adjustable lid set up.
Extended Octopogo™ Series supports any socket size ODC can’t.
PGA-625 ZIF socket on an Octopogo™ is wired to be compatible with pinmaps from a standard PGA-625 fixture. This makes migrating to higher pin counts easy and allows you to reuse old adapters while taking advantage of the native Octopogo™ designs.
Octopogo™ cards feature thru holes adjacent to the interface pads. This allows the Octopogo™ to be used on the MegaTrace bench without a spring pin block. They are compatible with any RTI socket
RTI has two versions of this fixture that’s compatible with the elastomer interface. One version supports 7 cables (648 pins). The other supports 23 cables (2160 pins).
See below for additional interfaces.
Benchtop “breakout board” adapters allow use without the MegaTrace.
Remote extension cables are available to connect to the DUT board inside an Emission Microscopy System (EMMI)
